Meet some of the tutor team
We currently employ a large number of highly qualified, UK-based maths tutors who have a wealth of experience in both secondary school teaching and private tuition. Here are some of our tutors:
Elaine
With a first class honours and a Masters degree in mathematics, Elaine has been tutoring for over ten years. She has eleven years experience as a teacher and is an examiner team leader, working predominantly with an English exam board but also for Cambridge International Exams.
“I believe that iTutorMaths enables students to use the benefits of technology to create clarity in their understanding of maths but more importantly allows interaction with both tutor and other students which would not be possible with technology alone.”
Alvon
Graduating with a degree in mathematics Alvon has held Maths Teacher and Head of Department positions throughout his successful career and is now Head of Curriculum for iTutorMaths. Alvon works closely with the course writers, tutors and is enthused by what iTutorMaths has to offer.
“I believe the live online small group tuition we provide at iTutorMaths offers something different and invaluable for students; the chance to give an answer or put forward an opinion without the worry of a whole class of students there; the chance to get on with maths with a tutor always ready to help and explain. It is nothing less than freedom to learn!”
Lindsay
Lindsay has enjoyed a successful career in the profession for the past eight years with five of those as Head of Department. Lindsay is also a GCSE examiner for the Edexcel exam board.
“Teaching using advanced technology has always really interested me and I have been extremely impressed by the iTutorMaths programme. Pupils have taken this technology in their stride and have made significant progress in their learning. They benefit from working in small groups and this practice has always been promoted within schools, so to be able to recreate this in a tutorial session is a unique and innovative use of technology.”
Adrian
As a Mathematics and Education graduate with over 20 years successful experience teaching in secondary schools, Adrian has extensive tutoring experience, and now enjoys being a full-time tutor as well with working part-time as an examiner for two examination boards.
“The iTutorMaths system allows easy interaction between the tutor and students in small groups and between the students themselves, using top-quality resources. This builds confidence, reinforces the course content and overcomes individual difficulties.”
